The Pump System

unit03.jpg (49377 bytes) The pump is a Surflo.   I picked it up on Ebay's Homebrew area for $51.00.  The tubing from the HLT to the pump is 1/2" connected to a plastic quick-connects from Moving Brews.  From the out side of the pump to sparge ect. I use 3/8' tubing. mash04.jpg (47375 bytes)
We used quick-connects from Moving Brews because they are food grade and have no check valves to catch troob.  No check valve makes it easy  to drain and clean tubes.  However, they aren't cheap!  They run $6.00 (male) and $11.00 (female) each. They can stand the heat with no problem. I ended us spending over $70 just for quick connects.
